Lake Guardian 2016: Day 7…the end
Kathy and Kari
After a night on the town and some last minute touches to our presentations, we were up and cleaning our cabins. Breakfast, photos and then off to the Great Lakes Aquarium to listen to each group’s research presentation.
What stands out? The incredible gifts of time, teaching and talents shared by our scientists, Joel, Christy, Glenn and Paul. The work of our leaders, Kristin and Cindy. The crew of the Lake Guardian who got us safely from shore to shore. And the friendships we have formed.
I have created a Facebook page: Shipboard Science – The Lake Guardian 2016 – If you like, join and perhaps we can continue to share lessons, professional opportunities, ideas, etc. I will also be cleaning up the video and will post it on Facebook.
Cheryl noted that we were all going home a little heavier – not just from Lisa’s cooking, but also with all the knowledge we have gained. And maybe our hearts are a little more full too….
“I’ve heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return…….
Who can say if I’ve been
Changed for the better?
I do believe I have been
Changed for the better
.Because I knew you,
I have been changed for good…”
